In case you don’t get automatically redirected to it, Hot Cocoa has a new site: http://hotcocoa.tv

Just wanted to let everybody know (who doesn’t follow me on Twitter) that there will be new episodes of Hot Cocoa beginning on August 1st. I’m also introducing a new sort of “spin-off” of Hot Cocoa called Hot Cocoa Basics. Basically every 4th episode of Hot Cocoa will be a Hot Cocoa Basics episodes, teaching the fundamentals of programming and maybe some of the underlying concepts in computer science.

I’m also working on getting the forums back up. The database somehow got deleted and I didn’t notice it in time to restore it from the backups since I only have them for the prior week.

In this week’s episode: We look at how we can use NSCollectionView to create a table of custom NSView objects.

I’ve decided to put Hot Cocoa on hiatus for the next week or two. Unfortunately I don’t have enough free time at the moment to get the preparation done for the podcast for the quality that I want to maintain. I’m currently working on a documentary for the Baltimore City School system on top of my jobs managing websites, working for the county school system and working at CCBC-TV. Luckily the documentary should be wrapping up editing next week so I’ll have more time once that’s done. Don’t worry though, I’ll still be active on the forums and Twitter helping people out and HC’ll be back in a few weeks once things calm down a bit here.

Not that we ever really had a set release date to begin with, but I’ve decided to move Hot Cocoa to coming out on Mondays due to the fact that with my video business I’m getting a lot more work during the week now. Hopefully this will give me time to get HC out over the weekend. Also, I’m going to try something new and put the source code up on the forums before the episodes come out. This way you guys can give any sort of feedback or questions about it you have and I can be sure to address them in the episodes.

Well, I have the New Years special done. Unfortunately having to share a single internet connection with everybody else in the hotel is making uploading things take all of an eternity. So I’ll upload it Saturday night when I get home and it’ll be up by Sunday.
